How it works

Advanced Hydrogen Injection Systems

  • The Gen 2 System produces hydrogen and oxygen gases on-demand from the controlled electrolysis of distilled water. There is no storage of hydrogen gas required for the system to operate due to the proprietary wet cell technology. 


  • These gases are then delivered to the engine’s air intake where they improve overall engine efficiency by aiding in a more complete and faster combustion of the air-fuel mixture. 


  • This increases engine power and torque, allowing the engine to run longer on the same amount of fuel, reducing engine wear, while reducing greenhouse gas emissions. 


  • Installation of the Gen 2 System is easy and ongoing maintenance is minimal. The system is completely safe and the i-PhiTM technology does not affect diesel engine OEM warranties.



As part of our due diligence including conversations with our clients and Innovative Hydrogen Solutions, and discussions with prospective users of the hydrogen injection technology, we have identified the next two generations of the technology. Both Gen 3 and Gen 4 will be designed to increase effectiveness, reduce operating costs, and integrate technology to support participating and financially benefiting in the carbon credit marketplace.

    OUR GOAL

    • Reducing diesel emissions is a top priority for OEM’s, businesses and governments. According to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, diesel-powered vehicles, vessels, locomotives, and generators account for over 60% of all nitrogen oxides (Nox) and more than 70% of all fine particulate matter emissions (PM2.5). Heavy- duty diesel vehicles alone account for 20% of all nitrogen oxides and 25% of fine particulate matter. With mounting evidence that diesel exhaust poses major health hazards and environmental concerns, reducing diesel emissions has become a well- funded objective for both governments and individual companies.


    • While electric-powered initiatives garner most of today’s headlines, many are skeptical about the resources, energy and actual time required to realize an electric- powered future, creating substantial opportunities for retrofitting solutions that can have a positive and immediate impact on reducing diesel emissions.

    • The i-PhiTM technology is a patented technology but also maintains a series of trade secrets related to the technology. As mentioned, the technology is a “wet cell” based technology that provides significant advantages over other technologies, which can be categorized as “dry cell”. Those differences are articulated in the above technology review. Below is a brief overview of the patents.
    • An electrolytic system for an internal combustion engine includes an electrolyte tank for receiving an anode electrode, a cathode electrode, and an electrolytic fluid therein for communication with the anode and cathode. A power source applies an electrical potential between the anode and the cathode to generate a current through the electrolytic fluid and produce an electrolytic reaction in the electrolyte tank which produces combustible gases. A gas outlet communicates the combustible gases from the electrolyte tank to the internal combustion engine. At least one of the electrodes A hollow passage which does not communicate with the electrolytic fluid in the electrolyte tank extends through one of the electrodes to receive a heat exchange fluid circulated therethrough so as to be arranged to exchange heat with said at least one of the electrodes.
